• Maldives sought  assistance of Indian companies to manage its recently upgraded Hanimaadhoo International Airport.
• The Indian Government  has asked the Airports Authority of India to study a request.

Earlier

• Maldives terminated a contract with Indian infra conglomerate GMR to develop the Male International Airport.
• This request came after a decade, when it was terminated contract.

Hanimaadhoo International Airport

• Hanimaadhoo International Airport located in Haa Dhaalu Atoll, Maldives.
• Since 2012, it has direct flight to Thiruvananthapuram, India.
